Recent Work

My sculptures are metaphors for the human experience.
I see life and the world outside as an enigma and try to imbue
my work with some sense of this mystery.

Although I enjoy drawing I rarely use drawings as a starting point.
Usually I begin with the actual materials, exploiting the sparks of insight
and tacit connections that often arise organically as the work progresses.

The finished work is the result of my interaction with the materials,
tools and the ensuing process.
For me the process is intuitive, emergent and reflective,
with the outcomes largely unforseen.

It is a slow, time-consuming process with many twists and turns.
